Electric Car Charger
With the rapid spread of electric cars, safe, fast, and efficient charging solutions are becoming increasingly important. Home and company charging equipment not only makes the use of electric vehicles more convenient but also more economical and safer.
What is an electric car charger?
An electric car charger (EV charger) is a device that safely and controllably transfers alternating or direct current from the electrical grid to the vehicle's battery.
What are its types?
1. AC (Alternating Current) Chargers
• For home or company installation
• 3.7 kW–22 kW power
• With Type 2 connector
• Slower but gentler charging
2. DC (Direct Current) Fast Chargers
• For public or industrial use
• 50 kW–350 kW power
• With CCS or CHAdeMO connector
• A battery can be charged in as little as 20-30 minutes
Why is safe installation important?
Electric car chargers require a separate fuse, a residual current device (RCD), and often a Type B RCD, because DC fault currents can occur during charging, which traditional AC or Type A RCDs cannot detect.
Professional installation guarantees:
• Personal safety
• Protection of the vehicle and the network
• Prevention of fire and short-circuit hazards
Why is it worth having your own charger?
Convenient: you can charge your vehicle at home or at work
Cost-effective: cheaper than public fast chargers
Safe: network-compatible, certified equipment
Future-proof: more and more electric cars are coming onto the market, increasing the value of owning your own charger.
